college internship program
The ATTA Library of STEM & History invites interested college students to apply for part-time internship opportunities. These paid internships provide hands-on experience in STEM education, technology, history, marketing, museum operations, and nonprofit policies while helping inspire the next generation of learners.
Interns will work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects that directly impact students, educators, and visitors from across our region. Depending on their school's policies, students may also be eligible to receive academic credit.
Students interested in STEM, computer science, engineering, information technology, history, education, graphic design, communications, marketing, museum/library operations, business etiquette, public relations, and related fields are encouraged to apply.
eligibility requirements

Enrolled college students.

Be able to work at minimum during library operating hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10am-5pm. (Mon, Wed, and Friday office operating hours can be scheduled in addition to the Tues and Thurs library operating hours.)

Have reliable transportation.

Compensation will be based on experience, education level, and position responsibilities.

at the atta, interns will gain experience in multiple areas throughout their internship. depending on current projects, individual interests, and organizational needs, interns may contribute to several of the following areas:
Information Technology - Assist with maintaining The ATTA's computers, networks, software, interactive technology, and audiovisual systems. Responsibilities may include troubleshooting hardware and software, installing updates, supporting classroom and exhibit technology, and helping ensure all technology remains operational.

Virtual Reality & Emerging Technologies - Help operate, maintain, and expand The ATTA's virtual reality experiences and other emerging technologies. Job tasks may include assisting visitors with VR equipment, testing applications, troubleshooting devices, researching new educational uses for immersive technology, and supporting innovative STEM experiences.

Interactive Exhibit Development & Maintenance - Assist with building, maintaining, repairing, and improving interactive STEM exhibits. Job tasks may include electronics, fabrication, mechanical systems, robotics, 3D printing, exhibit installation, and technology upgrades.

Digital History Collections & Genealogy Research - Support visitors and local history initiatives by assisting with genealogy research, historical records, archival collections, and research resources. Interns may also contribute to community history projects and historical interpretation. Help preserve local history by digitizing, organizing, cataloging, and maintaining historical collections and databases. Responsibilities may include scanning documents, organizing digital files, entering metadata, and supporting long-term archival projects.
